Tomas Little, MD
I have been a resident of Williams Township for 30 years. I practiced interventional cardiology at Easton and St. Lukes hospitals for many years. I was the first cardiologist to introduce several new procedures including stenting, atherectomy and valvuloplasty into both those hospitals. Our family donated an AED (defibrillator) to the Township following the tragic death of an 11 year old at the ball fields.
My wife and I built our home in the Township and raised our 3 children who attended Williams Elementary School and Wilson Area High School. My best times were watching my kids compete in sports at our local athletic fields and at High School. I served as a leader in Boy Scout Troop 31 for many years. The highlight of that service was taking two groups backpacking in the mountains of New Mexico. I am a member of the Sportsman’s Association, and a certified ski instructor at Blue Mountain.
WILLIAMS TWP PERMITING, ENGINEERING & INSPECTION
I have reviewed 18 months of Township Engineering reports submitted by Colliers Engineering and approved by the Supervisors. I conclude that this process is slow, bureaucratic, inefficient and expensive for residents who simply want to improve their property. The Supervisors (including my opponent who seeks re-election) approve these reports with typically zero discussion and no questioning of this overall process. When we built our home in the Twp 30 years ago the process was simple and fair. As a candidate for Supervisor, I’d like to return to that philosophy of government. I question if some permits should be required at all. I do recognize that the state has increased some requirements which the Twp is forced to comply with. If you would like to share your experience and suggest changes, please call me at 610 392-6766. I would be honored to receive your vote for Supervisor on November 4th.
